94 Spartans are Finalists in the Quebec Peewee Tournament
For the third year in a row, the Seacoast Spartans Peewee Majors participated in the Quebec International Peewee Hockey Tournament. Unlike the previous years, this year the Spartans advanced all the way to the finals and played in front of a crowd of approximately 10,000 fans at the Pepsi Colisee.

The 16 Spartan players joined with approximately 2,300 other peewee hockey players from 112 teams from 16 countries to compete in what is known as the World Championships of Peewee Hockey.

The Spartans placed second in the “B” division of this prestigious tournament, competing in five tournament games winning three and losing two.

The first game, against the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes, was a 3-0 loss, but the Spartans quickly reversed their fortunes by winning the next three games; beating Team Austria by a score of 2-1, the Pioneers of the North-West, 4-2, and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, 4-1.  The last victory qualified the Spartans for the Championship game against the Anaheim Ducks, which Seacoast lost, 4-1.

The Spartans also played five exhibition games; losing to the “AA” tournament champions Detroit Honeybaked, 6-2, defeating the Colorado Jr. Avalanche, 4-3, beating Quebec-West, 5-1, losing to Baie-Comeau Drakkar, 4-3, and tying the LA Jr. Kings, 1-1.

Every player on the Spartan roster recorded at least one point. The scoring leaders were Dominic Corsetto (5-1-6), Max Summermatter (3-3-6), TJ Daigler (1-5-6), Ian Rodden (1-5-6) and Stephen Wolf (3-2-5). Max Boucher and James Hall both played outstanding in goal for the Spartans.
