PLAYER OF THE WEEK - 12/20/27

Sunday December 27th

Fresh off the Christmas break, the NEHL had a full slate of games over the weekend. As usual, there were some high scoring affairs coupled with some stellar defensive efforts! For this weeks “Player of the Week” award, we turn to the 2012 division between the Greater Boston All-stars vs. the South Shore Dynamos. In a close contest, Greater Boston’s #6 William Baynes-Reid came out scoring quickly within the first 30 seconds of the game which helped set the tone for the rest of the afternoon. He netted another one in the second period which helped pave the way for a 5-3 Greater Boston win. When asked about William’s performance and impact on the game, Head Coach William Pepicelli had this to say, “Every game, William skates hard. He’s one of those players who gets the puck and can kick it into another gear. He’s usually good for one goal a game, but he’s also often the first one back to help the defense, which, to me, is just as important as scoring goals. A great two-way player.” Greater Boston improves to a record of 3-2  on the season. Congratulations to William on being named the Player of the Week!
